December 2009

Food Donations from His Church

On 23rd December, just in time for Christmas the Cyrenians Community Centre received a large donation of tinned soup, tinned fruit and pasta sauces from His Church Charity based in Huntington.

His Church Donation

We would have been unable to have the donation if it were not for the support of Rainbow Recycling in Fforestfach who allowed us to use their warehouse to take delivery and also supplied us witha forklift truck and driver. Rainbow recycling were the only people who responded to our radio appeal on Swansea Sound and we are exceptionally grateful as this allowed us to ensure that homeless, socially excluded and needy people in Swansea could benefit from good quality food over the Christmas period.

Many other charities also benefitted and these include SANDs, WGCDA, MIND, Gofal to mention a few. On behalf of Cyrenians Community Centre I would like to say how grateful we are to both HIS Church Charity and Rainbow Recycling.

Richard Humphrey Senior Coordinator for His Church said

His Church is delighted to partner again with Cyrenians Cymru, particularly at such a physically and emotionally difficult time of year for so many. Cyrenians heart for those who are maginalised and vulnerable is evident in the superb standard of inclusive practical care they provide.

We also know from past experience that Cyrenians will generously share this blessing around many Charities in Swansea who look after homeless and disadvantaged people, it's such a blessing for us to support their wonderful work.

Christmas Tree

Cyrenians Community Centre would like to say thank you to Gower Heritage Centre for providing us with such a beautiful Christmas Tree that brought much joy to many people attending the Centre over the Christmas period.
