The Owl and Parrot cafe from aboveThe Centre is open at 9 am and the cafe is open at 9.30 am. Hot and nutritious meals, snacks and drinks are served at the cafe as follows.

 

 

 

Breakfast

(£1) is served 9.30 - 11.00 am.
A typical breakfast would consist of Fairtrade tea or coffee, fresh juice,cereal and beans, cheese , scrambled egg or grilled bacon on toast. The Florida fruit cocktail also goes down well at breakfast.

Lunch

(£1.25) is served 11.15 - 1.00 pm. (We are open until 1.30 pm to enable people to finish their meal.)
Always available at lunch time are baked potatoes and salad. A chefs special is also available ranging from a traditional cooked dinner, vegetable pasta bake to curry. We occasionally have stirfrys on a Friday. We will also be providing fruit smoothies soon.

Also available are

  • Drinks (20p)
  • A dessert, coffee or chocolate (30p)
  • Smoothie (50p)

Occasionally we have specials on such as on Thursday 8th June ( Healthy Heart Day in line with Healthy Heart Week), where salmon with jacket potatoes and grilled mackerel salad with fresh fruit for desert was served.

Members of the public can buy vouchers to give to anyone, which can then be redeemed at the centre for Breakfast, Lunch, a Drink or a dessert. At present the tokens are only available at the centre itself or you can contact the Friends of the Cyrenians on 07795 816280 or by email, or by visiting their web site

The Voucher System

Vouchers can also be bought at the centre to give to people on the street instead of money. There are three types of voucher

  • £1.25 lunch
  • £1 breakfast
  • 20p tea or squash
  • 30p coffee, hot chocolate or dessert
  • 50p voucher for smoothies.

You have the opportunity to buy a bag of fruit, a bag of vegetables, or a bag of salad each week for £2 a bag.
